Thanks for the help Frank, but I forgot to mention I'm using the WO-
adaptor, not Tomcat.
On a related note: Is it high time to switch to a servlet type
deployment environment instead?

1. Have you tried to set some of the timeout settings noted here:
http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/config/workers.html
The entry "socket_timeout" could be interesting since
"
... If set to value zero (default) the JK will wait for infinite on
all socket operations
"
2. Are there any entries in your isapi.log-file?
3. Change the debug-level of the isapi-dll in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\...\Apache Software Foundation\Jakarta
Isapi Redirector\1.0
Good luck

Subject: ISAPI-adaptor problems (app hanging after restart)
Good afternoon folks.
I am deploying my apps on a Windows server running IIS. This
seems to
work fine - until I restart an app. The newly restarted app stops
responding (and sometimes, all apps on the server as well). To get
everything up and running again, I need to restart IIS, but IIS
always takes several minutes to go down when this happens.
Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening, i.s. allow me to
just install a new app and restart it?
Environment:
Windows Server 2003 Standard edition
IIS 6
WO 5.2.4
Cheers,
- Hugi
