Not sure exactly what happened. I think I did the install properly
but I was able to find the files on our Solaris 9 server so I just
copied them over.
I recall there being some issues between the OS X and Solaris version
of tar or gnutar, long ago. IIRC this sort of thing was one of the
symptoms.
