Not really. Mac Minis are not really good as long as you don't have
a cage in a hosting center as it is pain in the butt to have more
than one or two minis in a rack (mainly because of the external
power supplies).
And you can put about 10 to 12 Mac Minis in space where you can fit
at least three Xserves. But the three Xserves beat the shit out of
the Minis in terms of performance per rack unit. Initial cost might
be an issue, but if you really want to host a money making solution
(where you need redundant app servers), that shouldn't be an issue.
At least not in the size of one or two Xserves.
Mac Minis are for hobbyists (like me) and great as build servers or
staging / testing solutions ... or as small / cheap desktop boxes
and home servers. I totally love them, but for hosting I'd always
prefer two Xserves over a bunch of Minis.
