The patcher.sh script (at least the version that I looked at) is set
to look for gnutar the these places:
/usr/bin/gnutar
/tmp/gnutar
$next_root/NextDeveloper/bin/gnutar
/usr/local/bin/gnutar
If you have it in some other place, then I suggest you copy or symlink
it to one of these places.
If you don't have it at all then you'll need to install it.
The patcher.sh script has debugging to help you.
If you define DEBUG_PATCHER as empty then the script should give you
some additional info.
Something like this:
export DEBUG_PATCHER=
