More and more people is absolutely true. I have been using it for three years and I have seen the participants of this list grow. So the community is definitely growing, especially in the last year.

In fact, the whining is making the signal to noise ratio tough to deal with, and discourages other people from getting into WebObjects in the first place.

Please everyone, stop whining about Apple. I, for one, am very pleased with the state of things. People have been predicting all sorts of things for WebObjects over the years, and the one thing that has always come true is that it keeps being used by more and more people, especially Apple!

Hello list

I found you quite pessimistic and it's very suprising perhaps even very weird !!

In addition to attracting some very bright developers, it also attracts whiney, depressing ones. :-|

i don't really see why you think Apple is going to drop down this wonderful tech he is using internaly…

Most of us don't think this. Few, if any, long term WO developers think this.

Chuck

Apple politics is to make the OS X plateform a state-of-the-art developping plateform, i can't see why they will not include WO in this politics, especially that Web Services seem to be the future (look at all the Buzz around Web 2.0).

So even if i am a newbie, i can already see that WO is a good bet to develop such services.

Why don't you think that Apple will take the best of both world to provide a brigth future for WebObjects ? The best of his work and the best of the Open-source community to provide an good WO IDE. It will not be the first time.

Apple has the webkit, did a quite good WYSIWYG HTML editor with iWeb, maybe they just have to drop some old tech (cocoa-java bridge) to continue on sane basis : standard one, pure java…

Anyway it is just a newbie opinion.

I am not in the sececy of the gods.

Regards.
