Well, found it .... an old XCode project ...... I have not touched the original I received from somewhere on the net years ago except for the connection dict in the eomodel and changed the sql script to work with MySQL, so use at your own risk. Probably if many sessions go at it, it might not make sense at all what is happening, so links to source to play around with are below too: http://www.greenislandconsulting.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ freshnessexplorer.woa
(Careful ... this is an old 800MHz G4 with little RAM!)

If anyone wants the original source as I received it here it is .... it is an old XCode project and I am too busy to do more than just throw it on the server right now. (I had to look up my xcodebuild command line notes, it has been so long!)

Here is the original unadulterated FrontBase based project I got for it years ago: http://www.greenislandconsulting.com/wostuff/ FreshnessExplorer_frontbase.tgz

and here is the one with mysql sql script .... I cannot remember if I had to fix anything to make it work or not. This project is the same as the deployed one above, so it works. Like I said, this is not my project so don't ask me questions about it.

If you have past WWDC session, I think it might have been 2002 or 2003, James Dempsey explained this little app and all about fresh data. So search your DVDs if you want an explanation of the app.

By the way, here he is singing the MVC song!! very very interesting!

There is actually a great little app that Mr. Dempsey (famous for the MVC and other WO songs) demonstrated that helps one understand the freshness stuff. I have it archived somewhere ...... if I can dig it out I will deploy it here at home server for people exploring freshness to play with.

I think that was referred to as the "sledge hammer" approach in a WWDC session a few years ago ;-)

Indeed. You should never need to do that.
