EOQualifier qual = Convocation.STATE.eq(Boolean.TRUE);
(Hint: Attributes are always objects, not primitives)

Yes it would appear that it does Lachlan. In that case, I don't know
what Gustavo's problem was.
Though, I think I like Johann's version better:
EOQualifier qual = Convocation.STATE.isTrue();
EOQualifier qual = Convocation.STATE.isFalse();
