Sorry, to clarify, I would re-do the whole thing WITH EOF even if it means a bit of rewrite of their existing code. I'll tell you, they stuff quite a bit of it into MS SQL procedures. Can you say EWWWWW!?

Honestly, if you don't use EOF and you use Flex/OpenLazlo/ Silverlight/whatever, WO is pretty useless in those cases. The two biggest advantages of WO is EOF and the presentation layer, if you only use Web services without connecting to a database (what is your data sources ??) and start using a RIA layer, you don't use much WO power (unless you are generating your LZX XML stuff dynamically from your WO app).

Sorry, I did not see the offer of a support contract. Who was it from? Was it the post by Mike Schrag? Call at let me know the cost for such a thing! 312-246-5509

I still think that the mind of the director is set on RIA (OpenLaszlo) -- which I have personally integrated with WebObjects over SOAP just fine -- but with Struts. I just don't know how to convince her.

I do like OpenLaszlo (the resulting UI just feels fun and coding in the LZX XML is not bad). But if it went away and there were no more WebO ... I mean this job has been the best ever, but ... well, at least I'd still be doing Java-something.

If I were tech director, I'd take a step back and re-do the whole thing in OpenLaszlo/WebO/Java!
