The console gives me the same error I used to get with DirectConnect (which 
apparently everyone here gets):

Aug 25 12:48:08 MyApp[5557] WARN  er.extensions.statistics.ERXStatisticsStore  
- Request did take too long : 26804ms request was: com.MyApp.ui.Main

But the app still ran in DirectConnect.  I get No Instance Available in Apache 
(unless I reload it multiple times)

It is set to use localhost

No on https to login.  It's a direct action, and in any case, I have had to 
reload sometimes even after I have logged in to go from one page to another.
