Why not? Since you already have a redirection engine in place, redirecting
as many URL's as possible will greatly increase the site usability; reduce the
damage to existing documents, products, and search engines; and increase the
user satisfaction. Breaking them just increases the number of complaints
your team and your team's management will inevitably get about the migration.
This is a well known, long standing component of web design and usability -
