Martin, [Regarding the website move] > > How was it possible that nobody prevented this nightmare from happening? > Why did Sun pay (!!!) somebody to implement this? > > Does such a measure increase transparency? > Or is somebody trying to implement it more like a corporate website > where transparency is not desired?
The website transition hasn't been sprung out of thin air. It's been discussed and planned for what seems like forever. The community has been given lots of notice, and ample opportunity to get involved. The website team has taken considerable feedback and worked hard to accommodate changes requested by the community. They deserve our thanks for getting this done. There are going to be problems. Some of those are simply cleanup due to old content (which was of variable type and quality) not migrating cleanly, and the various groups on the site need to make sure their content is good. (Opportunity for evaluation of opportunities for improvement as well, I suspect.) Some are simple bugs, and people need to report those. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/ _______________________________________________ website-discuss mailing list [email protected]
