Thanks Alan - I was offline for a few hours with some dsl issues, so just got back on now.

Tested the links and they are all failing as expected, as opposed to being redirected to a different page, so we should be fine now and update_refresh.sh should work as it has done before. I tested on a range of locales not just en-US to make sure all was well.

You asked how long it will take for folks to migrate over to http://dlc.sun.com/osol/packagemanager/downloads/200906/ I have no idea. It depends on when they update their 2009.06 boxes from the release repo. Many will update but some may not.

We need all these navigations to fail, if they do not and any goes to a real page then the script downloads that page and we are in trouble.

OK, so the list of available files may change, that informs the way I need to implement the redirects. I'll get back to you when I have something in place.

2006.09 machines which have updated from the release repo and current builds all point to:
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/packagemanager/downloads/200906/

And attempts to download from here fail as expected, until we do actually put up a tar ball update that we want clients to download.

Right, so over time clients will switch to directly accessing DLC instead of via an OSO redirect. Any idea of how long you expect that to take?
