Do they folks at Canoo have any stats on how many users of Webtest there are?
How many downloads are occurring?, Etc.? Does Canoo still use Webtest in their
projects?

Hi all,

WebTest is OpenSource as you know. If we would move the source code to GitHub
and make it easier for the community to do contributions
on their own – would some of you be able / willing to spend time in
contributing?
I also believe it would be very sad to let WebTest die as its core idea and
concept still are very valid and helpful even in actual development
 projects.

Could you give some feedback about if you could contribute?

Just send a “+1” to the list, so we see, if it will be worth moving the project.

Cheers,
Martin

It’s quite the same for me. I’m still using Webtest. I think, it’s a very good
tool. So far I could cover all I wanted with it. Ease
of use, reporting, possibilities to structure the tests and reusing packages,
all that is just fine.
So, I don’t like to see it just fade away like that. Still I’m thinking about
moving over to another tool as there is no activity or
 progress anymore.

I happen to like using Webtest and find it truly disappointing that the product
has slipped into the state is has. I wonder if the sponsors would
be willing to donate it or host it elsewhere… or if that would even help. It
is difficult for me to gauge the level of interest or use in the product via
this mailing list. It was once much more active and leads me to believe that
most have moved to another
tool. I work with a test team that are not developers, and the ability to
write test scripts using Ant XML is much easier for them to grasp than writing
Java code.

I was able to get a version of Webtest running on htmlunit 2.12. But the
changes in 2.14 and dependencies are a little more daunting and I have
not had the time required to get a good feel for how all of the pieces work
together so that I can make updates.

Hi all,

Webtest uses htmlunit 2.10.

What are the chances that webtest
will be updated to use htmlunit 2.14

or we should migrate to other tools for automated testing of web applications?
