I can see the attraction in a sort-of two part process; change the form 
as necessary, then submit it later. It also might be possible to do it 
with CSS hiding of the second element...

I do like the way you've solved it; the method is the right way to go; 
I'm just not sure that it's a problem that I would want solved ;-)

I'll read through the rest of the comments on this issue before I weigh 
in any further.
