I'm guessing the "pattern" of how it works is well worth studying, but 
I don't think PSP's translation and caching have been packaged in a 
re-usable format.

Jay can confirm or deny that. Probably Geoff could as well.

Cheetah also does some translation and caching, but I can't remember if 
it's automatic or not.
