I am using webware on a shared host that's running Red Hat;
it works well for the most part, although I have to restart
the appserver now and then due to a well-known problem with
threads on RH. Also, I can't install things like mod-python.
So I'm considering moving to one of the hosts that offer
user-mode linux (or BSD) virtual private servers(*), and I have
a choice of distributions (one company that looks good,
redwoodvirtual.com, offers a choice between Debian Woody
and Fedora core 1; other companies offer RH, Gentoo, etc.)
Which distribution is best for hosting a site that uses
webware?

(*) Also called Linux Virtual Servers and a few other things.
The big deal here is that you have your own (virtual) dedicated
server with root access, so you can install anything you want.
