We have a designated employee who processes internal claims. We use lock
boxes for submitting internal information. We have group specific security
in our claims processing system which restricts access to internal claims.

Subject: Employee claims

What are TPAs doing to ensure their own employees' health claims are kept
secure (and only accessed when minimally necessary)?

I'm interested in finding out if there is an "industry trend" or generally
accepted way of dealing with in-house PHI. Are employee claims funneled to
specific examiners? Are employee claims out-sourced? Are policies enough?
