To me, this is a clue that the only reasonable approach for people that are
not trying to develop weewx, is to run  a package from their operating
system's package manager.

Other approaches basically require people to understand what they are
doing.

That sounds like a broken packaging system.  In order to have weewx, it
first has to have all the dependencies.  People doing package
maintenance deal with this as part of package creation.


I would tend to say that if the native packaging system is unsuitable,
people should either use a portable packaging system that is, or they
should use pip.
