I occasionally suffer what I think is a lockup - the station console still shows the current conditions but my computer screen (weewx) has stopped updating - for maybe an hour or so. So I power cycle to get things going again. Normally when I do this, the first record I get is way out i.e. 1 metre of rain in 10 minutes. This is no problem as I can null out the record (as per "cleaning up bad data" on the wiki). However, my question is this, I've lost all the data while my station was locked as there are no records in the database file. Is there no way to get this data back? I was thinking that because the station seems to be functioning OK, then it has recorded the data (as it has its own memory) but the data just hasn't been transferred to my computer as the USB has been locked. I have Aercus instruments ws3083 (which I believe is the same family as fine Offset 3080)
