Damian,
You have to give wee_config a command.
>From the usage, you want this:

$ sudo wee_config --reconfigure --config=/etc/weewx/weewx.conf

(Although you can leave the --config part off, since your conf file is located 
in the default location).

But do be sure to back up the config file first...
