If the driver is incorrectly setting usUnits to ‘US’, one would see this 
behavior. What driver are you using? Perhaps you are missing a setting in 
weewx.conf to tell the driver the station is sending metric data.  BTW, do you 
know for sure if the data coming from the weather station is metric?
