During the last few years a large number of aliens have
visited the Earth. Some have even taken residence on this
quaint little planet. Galactic Order HB42k requires all aliens
to maintain anonymity, but there is still the need to
communicate, inform and advertise. The board attempts
to fill this niche.

 WEIRD NEWS
-------------------------------------------------------------

A Romanian woman who thought her husband had hanged
himself found him sleeping in their bed. The couple had a
row and the husband threatened to hang himself in a nearby
barn before leaving their home. The wife went to check the
building and found a man hanging there. But when she
returned home she found her husband asleep. After finding
the man, she ran into the nearest town of Arad to alert police.
She then returned home. "When I saw him in bed I got very
scared. I was afraid he'd come back from the dead and was
going to hurt me. I even checked his neck," Valeria Richter
says. Her husband told her he'd hidden in a nearby barn
until she'd left, then entered their home and went to bed.
Police have now identified the dead man and say there are
no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A collection of anatomical wax models which once circulated
in freak shows across Europe are to be auctioned by Christie's.
The 350 models were originally made to be used in anatomy
lessons, many were created in Germany in the 19th century.
A head showing the replacement of a nose by using skin from
the patient's forehead and rare physical defects, are just some
of the conditions featured. Leonce Schiffman, a Swiss painter
built up the collection, which was then inherited by Lily Binda,
a carnival freak show owner. She later toured European fairgrounds
with the collection. She once said about the show: "I saw men
enter blind drunk and leave stone-cold sober."

Theme bars modelled on prisons, where customers are locked
up in dingy cells, are the latest craze in Japan. Customers knock
back drinks such as Jintai Jiken, which means the experiment,
from test tubes in the "Lockup" bars. Laboratory flasks and
beakers are provided to allow patrons to mix their own cocktails
while relaxing with cellmates. The bars are having to be more
and more imaginative to attract customers as the country sinks
into yet another recession. University student Kaio Ezawa said
she and her friends liked to visit a Lockup bar in Tokyo. "We
find the prison atmosphere really exciting and the tension of
being locked up seems to help us become drunk more quickly
than usual," she said. "That makes us more popular with the
guys. It's a win-win situation."
