                       WEIRD SIDE E-ZINE
                                Issue #182

<><><><><><><><><><>
      EDITORS NOTE
<><><><><><><><><><>

Dear subscribers,

Welcome again to a new issue of "Weird Side Ezine".

On Sunday, 9/28 I'm going to Thailand for a 3 week
holiday. This means there will be no Ezine for 3
weeks...

That's the bad news...

The good news is that I will have the time to clear my
head, and get new ideas to make this Ezine the best
one in it's category.

So, don't cry... I'll CU later again!

 WEIRD NEWS
-------------------------------------------------------------

George Frideric Handel has at least one thing in common
with Eminem and other modern artists: his music was slapped
with an "explicit" warning at Apple Computer Inc.'s online
iTunes Music Store. The baroque composer's 1742 masterpiece,
The Messiah, was marked with the red warning that indicates
the content might not be appropriate for young children or
others with sensitive tastes. It's on a recording by the London
Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by John Alldis. The warning,
which appeared when the album's tracks were made available
Tuesday but disappeared late Tuesday, was most likely a
technical mix-up, though The Messiah does touch on love,
violence and death - in a more profound way than, say, most
music produced 260 years later.

Alanis Morissette shocked fans when she ended her first
gig in Peru by shouting: "Thank you Brazil!" Morissette made
the mistake in front of a 14,000 crowd at the Monumental
Stadium in Lima. She was criticised by a number of Peruvian
newspapers but some were more forgiving. Newspaper Ojo
said: "We have already forgiven her thanks to her magical
performance in which we witnessed a true rock star. "It was
the first time something like that happened over here but it
must have been the emotion she felt for being in Peru."

Surgeons at a Russian hospital have opened an exhibition
of some of the more unusual items recovered from their
patients' stomachs. The collection of about 3,000 objects
includes both real and false teeth, needles, fish hooks, nails,
glass and pieces of metal. The doctors, of the clinical hospital
in the city of Irkutsk, say most of them were eaten accidentally,
reports NTV. They decided to put them in an exhibition at
the hospital to warn patients to be more careful.

An alternative rock band from Florida claims it'll feature a live
suicide during a gig next month. Tampa outfit Hell on Earth
says a terminally ill member of a right-to-die group planned to
commit suicide on stage during the gig on October 4. Their
website says the person's identity won't be released until the
day of the gig at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg. The site
didn't say how the person would commit suicide. The band
claims the "volunteer" wanted to die onstage to "raise awareness
for dying with dignity". Dave Hundley, one of the owners of the
theatre, says he's aware of the plan and was trying to determine
whether or not it was just a publicity stunt. "If I have an inkling
that this is for real, I need to worry about it," said Hundley. He
added the band played the venue a couple years ago and has
been known to stage some strange stunts, such as chocolate-
syrup wrestling and grinding up rats in a blender.
