I replied to an email about performing , with a bit of clarification
and stuff, and latest from Hutt City is as follows. I'm pretty busy,
does someone want to run with this?

----------------------------------------------------------

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response, and for this information – I didn’t have
that email, so it’s good to know.

Hopefully I can respond with the information you need!

- Having not been at the carnival before I can’t comment
regarding drunks, but from what I’ve been told it’s a very family
orientated atmosphere, and everything (including the fireworks
display) is over by 8pm, which I would hope would be too early for
“drunks”!

- We are planning to have sound equipment for a number of
displays, etc, so if this is required then we should be able to work
something out.

- There is potential for payment of $40-$50 per person,
depending on numbers involved (we are very limited on budget this
year), however Council regulations are that either a Tax invoice is
received, or that each performer is officially contracted (meaning
with-holding tax must be paid). Depending on how official the group is
set up, this could either be very simple, or a fairly difficult
process!

- Busking would be fine, however if we were making the above
mentioned payment then I’m not sure we would want this – it would be
one or the other.

- Ideally we would want people there to perform from about
5.30pm – 7.30pm. The fireworks starts at 7.30pm, and after that’s
finished everything is pretty much done.

- Happy to have a specific area “roped” off for you, to
discourage interaction and encourage spectators!

Let me know your thoughts – keen to get costs sorted for everything ASAP.

Cheers,
Thomas Buchanan

We meet and spin fire in Frank Kits Park Tuesday nights weather permitting.
Please bring Koha if you wish to use the fuel provided.
This is pegasol and is highly refined kerosene $5 minimum.
If you wish to bring your own fuel, please bring your own dipping bucket so you
do not mix down the peg with regular kero.
