I'm afraid I can't help with regard to the existence of an
intermediate blind for the short workings, but I would think it is
quite possible - there were only two or three of those short journeys
per day; and, given that the route between Gloucester and Lydney was
fairly direct, an intermediate points blind was probably not really
necessary.

The reference to Lydney (Newerne) on the destination blind might help
to date the photo. The 1964 timetable makes no reference to Newerne -
the journeys terminated at the bus station. However, looking at Google
Maps, Newerne Street appears to be in the centre of Lydney, so
possibly that was the main stopping point prior to the opening of the
bus station?

According to Richard Waters' website (http://glos-buses.mysite.wanadoo-
members.co.uk/), service 13 had been renumbered 73 by June 1967. The
vehicle in your photo, 803BWO seems to have been allocated to Lydney
depot for most of the period from 1961 to 1967.
