I used what I am told is the ultimate arbiter in these things, namely
the Ordnance Survey map. I have checked both 7th Series 1" maps and
more recent 1:25000 maps and just to be sure, following your question,
the OS on-line map. I've also looked at an on-line 1891 map and
that's the same, so we haven't got a case of the official version
changing, which does happen. A Topographical Dictionary of Wales (S.
Lewis, 1833) seems to spell it that way (on-line reference).
At first I thought the bus was wrong!
You're right about the inconsistency, though. My North Pembroke
timetable shows Richards at Moylegrove Garage, but Richards' own
leaflets describe it as Moylgrove Garage.
The most puzzling thing is the village website and the various signs
shown as Moylegrove. Why do they consistently spell it differently?

David,
Interesting that you have raised the question of the spelling of the
village name: Moyl(e)grove. As I have never been sure of the
correct version myself.
Their website has the central letter "e". http://www.moylegrove.org.uk/
as does the village sign - click on "short video" on the website.
Where did you check and find the other version ?

Thanks for identifying that - it's been driving me round the bend. I
was looking at Pembrokeshire churches (which is why I didn't find one
in Cardiganshire!). There are quite a few similar, the square tower
being popular. Worst of all the church in Newport (a very likely
candidate) has a very similar tower complete with corner buttresses.
The village spelling is Moylgrove, by the way (I had to check myself).
