Follow-up Comment #5, bug #3870 (project wesnoth):
To clarify, I am no-one of consequence, I am not a dev, I contribute to the
game only by providing bug and f.r. feedback.
In my assumed role, I find myself agreeing with you, let me reiterate, on
numerous accounts. I should perhaps apologise for my somewhat verbose
outburst, though it seemed called for in this case.
I find now that I started off the wrong end, as I have yet to actually thank
you, in a form other than simple notes concerning single issues, for the work
you're doing to clear up the bug database of obsolete entries. I commend and
thank you for that, the older entries have indeed been in want of combing and
pruning. Reducing the deadwood is warranted. I hope you will accept this
acknowledgment for your work.
I should probably better recall my status as a non-dev, and keep a smaller
mouth, as I do find sense in the policy that wesnoth is created "for the
devs, by the devs".
Yet I find myself contributing (and wanting to contribute!) to the game's
development in the form of bug reports, and I try to keep my reports
substantial and useful. Hence some, perhaps justified, frustration at the
face of seemingly unwarranted bug report cleansing.

As to the (somewhat minor, and accordingly labeled) issue at hand, I find
that the original submitter's intent, as far as I understand it, has merit.
Indeed, in a hex-based game, in a map with 6 directions, or 3 principal axes,
being able to rotate the map (in the editor) would seem among the most natural
of things to do. Thinking "outside the 'rectangle'" seems a virtue, in this
case. :-)
