Details:

After creating a new map, I went to "Save Map As" and the save box appeared,
with the ".." option selected. Typing the first letter of any map in the
current folder caused the selection box to jump to that map. Continuing to
type characters that did not match the selected filename did not cause the
file to deselect. Upon selecting "OK" the new filename that the user just
entered is replaced with the filename of the selected file (which was the
file that automatched on the first character) and the user is told "that"
file exists and is asked if they want to overwrite it (note that the
auto-completed file name is not displayed in the confirmation box, so the
user might well expect that the question pertains the the filename just typed
in).

I expected any autocomplete feature to give up once I'd typed a character
that no longer matched any possible existing files and deselect any files
that it had selected. Even this behavior would cause problems when trying to
save a new file as a shortened form of the name of an existant file. Perhaps
the best way to handle all cases (which I believe I have seen elsewhere)
would be to always use the text entry value, have any files the user clicks
on in the file list automatically populate that entry box, and have
autocomplete require a special key combination to override that value
(ctrl-enter?)? Also, it'd be nice if the overwrite prompt included the
filename that was going to be overwritten.
