The verbatim failed miserably. Let's try again:
:lua for k,v in pairs {0,1,1,2,"gc"} do
wesnoth.set_variable("__scenario_objectives_"..v) end
And another time in ugly formtatting, just in case this is a gna bug:
:lua for k,v in pairs {0,1,1,2,"gc"} do
wesnoth.set_variable("__scenario_objectives_"..v) end
