Details:
According to http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21128 there is
both support and an appropriate icon to shi the dev versions with a unique
icon to be used on the desktop.
I imagine that it would be fairly easy to have a dev-version icon that would
show up on the desktop, menus, application-window, application-choosers (like
alt-tab, etc).
Probably it has just been forgotten since it is such a small thing...
