Follow-up Comment #4:
I do have a possible fix for the rest of the corner case bugs which might be
possible due to the use of the sighted event, but frankly it's a bit too
hacky for me to comfortably apply it to 1.8.
The fix ai0867 committed indeed fixes the most glaring bug, so I'm just going
to leave it as it is in 1.8. I'll attach my suggested patch anyway, in case
someone cares enough about it to test it extensively on 1.8, at which point
it could be committed, I guess.
