Follow-up Comment #3:

Alright. The randomization in this dialog happens to use a code path for
gender randomization which is apparently also used by wml and thus is only
semi-randomized, in the same way set_variable's rand= works. This explains why
I can't reproduce it now, and when I found this it was so that I used the
functionality in a way which, judging from my experience with rand=, leads to
always the same result.
Withdrawing as invalid.

(Still, it would be more useful to determine the gender to be female than to
randomize it.)
