Summary: created games sometimes don't show up in mp lobby Project: Battle for Wesnoth Submitted by: anonymissimus Submitted on: Sat 01 Dec 2012 05:47:23 PM GMT Category: Bug Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Multiplayer Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: lipk Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 1.11.0+svn@r55785 Operating System: Lubuntu 12.04 _______________________________________________________ Details: 1. Start two wesnoth clients; use one to host networked game using wesnothd. 2. Create a Settlers of Wesnoth game using SoW addon (using svn or git svn with https://wesnoth-umc-dev.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wesnoth-umc-dev/trunk/Settlers_of_Wesnoth) 3. The created game sometimes doesn't show up for the remote client. I didn't yet find a deterministic way to reproduce. I also tried to reproduce using offical trunk mp server without success yet. Two key elements seem neccessary to reproduce: 1. The addon must be in the userdata dir of one of the clients only, the other mustn't have it. 2. umc-dev r16284 triggers the problem. This revision uses the new modification-system related keys to restrict the modes the addon can be played: There are two eras and one scenario; the scenario can be played with one of the two; no other eras or modifications are allowed to be combined with any of the three. (SoW has two modes of play, one of which requires all joining players to have the addon, the other doesn't; the two eras represent these two modes.) The bug shows pretty quickly after creating 1-3 games however. Also, when clicking onto the create button in the lobby, sometimes an unexpected "user input required" dialog did show up. I also cleared my userdata directories except for SoW addon and the problem still appeared. I'm assigning to you lipk since it seems it's related to the modifications system. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://gna.org/bugs/?20342> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ _______________________________________________ Wesnoth-bugs mailing list Wesnoth-bugs@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/wesnoth-bugs
