WNiler,
We should extend this to the cover the Environment Destroyed. But after. The
people first.

Dear Colleagues
Thanks for picking this issue up and raising its profile for further action.
Clearly the actions of these BAT guys in the last several years have have
caused increasing problems - directly and indirectly - to the people of the
region.
We are with you Caleb in the struggle for the oppressed people.
Regards
Patrick Okuni

Dear Charles,
Thank you for blowing the whistle. I hope that these ills get the publicity
they deserve after a careful assessment of the facts. Caleb, we appreciate your
contribution to be one of the "voices" of the voiceless. This exploitation must
stop.

George,
I also read on the NV or wat it the Monitor that the journalist who covered the
accident story was charged fro accepting a bribe to shelve the story.
Apparently, after writing the story, he was bribed no shelve it.
Which centuary do we live in? Whoever said slavery has ended in Africa!
On the pocitive side, I think this type story is finally what is going to make
West Nile farmers kiss good bye to Tobacco farming!
So what are the local governments and politicians saying about all these? Who
are they representing in their council and parliament buildings? How can a
people be raped for over half a century and all one gets is silence ffrom the
people and gov'ts that represent them!
The God who created the black race....could not have done any worse!

No no no no. This is unacceptable. The farmers cannot and should not pay for an

and should not be allowed to continue. Lawyers on the forum, can't you so
something to redeem the farmers??

Could others verify what is happening in other districts/counties. We have
received the following information about the latest in BATs strategic plan to
satisfy their shareholders.
If this is true and happenning all over the tobacco growing areas, Adripi
Caleb, would you educate us about "class action suits (CAS) in Uganda". I think
this a prime candidate for CAS!

Just to share with you want is happening to our tabacco farmers who got input
from BAT co. as loan .
As you are aware of the drought the crop was destroyed and farmer cant pay the
loan.
BAT is now confiscating farmer properties like domestic animals, bicycle ,house
hold items.
They move with police to scare the farmers and what they collect is 3times the
loan the farmers picked eg Miriya John picked input worth 200,000= he lost10
goats to BAT worth 600,000=
Tobacco farmers could learn from this.
