Dear Joel,
I am impressed with your professionalism. Thank you for the experiment. As
George has indicated will the sender (sorry, I forget who it was) find ways of
sending seeds that will still be viable by the time they reach Uganda or find
about the life span of the seeds before trying again? Is it possible for the
sender to find professionals in Canada (I think that is where he is) who could
say more about the seeds?

Dear interested,
You recall we received some seeds of the above tree from one of our own in the
diaspora through Jimmy Adriko who passed the seeds to me for planting.
I did viability test of the seeds and in all seeds I tried to split I didnt
find a live embryo and the cotyledon (serving as food source for the embryo)
was very soft, meaning it was depleted.
However I went ahead and planted the seeds and unfortunately none of them
germinated. This means that the seeds had lost viability by the time they were
received.
Depending on the physiology of the tree, some seeds retain viability for long
while others lose it within a very short time. So there is need to know more
about this tree so as to determine the way foward.
Best regards, Joel
