Dear Comrades,
I hope this finds all of you in normal progress save for the sudden demise of
our beloved brother Johnson. I would like to bring to your attention and to
seek support for the captioned event. Maracha Academic Excellence Award is an
initiative that was started in 2008 with an aim of improving academic
performances. Initial 2008 awards went to 7 pupils who passed in division
one. As a result of the increased competition and motivation among pupils and
teachers, 27 pupils qualified for the award the following year (2009). These
awards have continued to improve performances with 48 pupils passing in
division
one in 2010 P.L.E.
The organizing committee of these awards would like to recognise the efforts of
the 48 pupils in a ceremony slated for Feb 12, 2011 at new Maracha District
Headquarters--Nyadri. We are looking at raising 48 mattresses, 48 bed sheets,
exercise books, scholarships, and other scholastic materials to enable us
support these children. Reaching this goal requires support of education
lovers,
individuals and companies with value for communities. Mandela SS on top of last
year's bursary and High Field College have offered full bursaries to 6 of the
48
pupils.
As part of your Social Responsibility programs, given the higher multiplier
effect of investments in education, we are kindly asking you to partner with us
in organising this event that will be attended by parents, religious leaders,
teachers and local government officials. I will deeply appreciate hearing from
you at your earliest convenience.
