Thanks Michel.

For everyone's information, check out Q237295 on the MS knowledge
base.....Win2K does not support MIB's created with perf2mib, which IPSwitch
recommends using for monitoring performance on Windows.......

Sorry Dave i cannot help you much with that. This URL point at a possible
solution i saw on the ipswitch website. And as i said , it's not the
solution
i use . But they're talking about the NT4 resource kit , maybe it doesn't
exist
no more on the WIN2K resource kit. Maybe someone else have the answer on
that.

I prefer the other solution because it's network independant ,except for the
snmp trap
sent if there's an alert. And if you don't sample the data to often , permon
should
not take to much resource on the system ( but i don't have any statistics on
that)

And you can also save your Alert in htm ( see attachment). When you launch
it it will open
a perfmon graph in your browser . So what i do is replace 127.0.0.1 with the
ip of the server
i want to monitor and save it( one file per server and i need admin
permission on the server)
Then i go in WUP , right-click on the server , select customise menu - Add -
        Menu name : CPU
        Command : \\...\cpu.htm

so finally i have ;
1- One internal CPU monitoring tool wich will send an SNMP trap if
it reach a certain threshold
2- One manual monitoring tool wich will display the CPU usage in a
nice graph in the browser
