I am having this same problem with the pager. I am using Nextel. Is there a terminal number that I need to get from Nextel that is not the same as the paging number from a landline. If anyone is using a Nextel phone for the paging service ( not the email text) the please reply and let me know how you have this setup.

You'd actually want to edit a pager notification device, not a beeper. For the number you need to put in a phone number that corresponds to your service; it is generally NOT the pager number. You can call your provider if you don't have this (I called arch to get mine). The pager id is then just the pager phone number. I used the default dial string.
BTW, this provided a use for one of about thirty old decommissioned 14.4 modems...I knew there was a reason for saving them! :^)
