Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring Question

As I thought I understood it, when a device on a map misses X number of
pings (logging threshold), Whats Up will highlight the device name in
black.  The subnet will also then have a black highlight as well.

I recently upgraded to version 8.01 from version 8.  I have noticed a
change in this alerting mechanism.  I have a fairly large network, with
170 subnets, comprising well over 1000 devices.  Within a hour each of
these subnets will have a black highlight.  Of course I then need to
acknowledge this information.  This is very different then with version
8, where it was very logical and manageable.  When I look at the status
of a device there are no issues other than a missed ping. With logging
thresholds are set at 4, should this even, go to this status?

Has anyone else seen this behavior change?  Can someone perhaps explain
this process, a little better?

Thanks for your help!
