Hey Ken,

if a device misses a poll we invert the label on the device so the user has
an indication that 'something' has occurred.
This is not based on a polling or logging trigger.
If the device is within a subnet, we invert the label on device and on the
subnet icon, so the user has an indication something has occurred on one of
the devices within the subnet.
The user can then drill down on the subnet icon, locate the device with the
inverted label and get more info to what happened.
If the device within the subnet is acknowledged, the subnet icon will also
reflect the acknowledge state.

We did fix a defect in v8.01, this is why you see a difference in behavior.
In v8.0 the subnet icon did not correctly reflect the state of the devices
within the subnet.
