Upgrading to 8.01 was worth it to me as I now have less memory leaks
than before! I can get the WUG service to stop on demand most times
however after about a week running I do need to start killing processes
to get it to stop. Saying that it is still much better than 8.0!

I think that these issues only happen on Win2k with SP4. Our WUG with
8.0 was just fine on SP3. (and I think Ipswitch can confirm that this
is the case)

At the risk of getting flamed,(fire away!) me too! I'm still waiting at
8.0.

Once again, I'll ask, what is the consensus on this upgrade? I'm still
operating with version 8.0. I have no interest in doing a complete
re-installation right now. I've got other fish to fry. I guess I'll
have to weigh the benefits of what's in the upgrade vs the risk of
failure and re-install.

I finally loaded 8.01 (release 2003.05.21), plus the hotfix on a system.
WhatsUpG.exe still has (or now has) a problem with memory.
When runnig as a service everything works fine.
When you stop the service and try to start as an application it hangs
and the memory consumption climbs up to 20 MB. Then it stops working.
When you start whithout loading any map it seems working. But after you
try to open a new map it crashes.

After deinstallation and a new install it seems to work.
After one day running, it's memory usage is just over 20MB and it
crashes like described.

System Specs:
Compaq Proliant 5000, PIII 200MHz, 256MB ram, running Win 2K, SP 3,
Terminal Services in Admin-Mode Tested also on Compaq Proliant DL380G2
P4, 4GB RAM, running Win 2K, SP 3 Terminal Services in Admin-Mode
