Philip, We use both Baystack 450-24T's and Nortel Business Policy Switch 2000's here without any problems Auto Discovering all the interfaces. We also have one Baystack 450-12T but it's not being used right now. If I can physically locate it, I'll set it up and run an Auto Discover on it to see what type of reaction I get out of it. For the time being however, the only suggestion I can make is to ensure you have the latest/greatest firmware code installed on your Nortel Switches and upgrade if it's not the latest (v4.4.x if memory serves me correctly) to see if that resolves your particular issue.
