I've been using wug for quite a while to monitor our routers across our wan, some unix
servers and a few services.
I got in my email a message talking about statscout, a performance monitoring app,
that monitors snmp devices across networks, at intervals of 60s. I was wondering is
Whatsupgold can do this, saving us cost and more equipment admin? and my other
question is what program do you suggest for this purpose?
this is a sample of what statscout does
Historical Reports
-
Hourly, daily and monthly reports for:
- Device outages
- Bytes
- Frames
- Errors
- Discards
- FECN/BECNs
- Threshold exceed counts
- Frame relay CIR exceed counts
- Number of hours which experienced: Errors, Discards, FECN/BECNs
- Decoded SNMP traps
I know we are subutilizing our wug because we don't use any of the snmp monitoring
but that's another story.
Thank you,
Elliott
