I just recently purchased Denika from Somix.  We used MRTG before to get our performance reports,  though MRTG gets the job done, the task of configuring MRTG becomes very cumbersome.  Denika does a great job integrating your exciting WUG maps with RDD graphs to chart performance stats.  I use Denika mainly to monitor the amount of bandwidth that our routers utilize.  With 140 routers and about 200 servers, setting up Denika to work with whatsup wasn't as difficult as I thought.

I've been using wug for quite a while to monitor our routers across our wan, some unix servers and a few services.

I got in my email a message talking about statscout, a performance monitoring app, that monitors snmp devices across networks, at intervals of 60s.  I was wondering is Whatsupgold can do this, saving us cost and more equipment admin? and my other question is what program do you suggest for this purpose?

Historical Reports

• Hourly, daily and monthly reports for:

• Device outages
• Bytes
• Frames
• Errors
• Discards
• FECN/BECNs
• Threshold exceed counts
• Frame relay CIR exceed counts
• Number of hours which experienced: Errors, Discards, FECN/BECNs
• Decoded SNMP traps

I know we are subutilizing our wug because we don't use any of the snmp monitoring but that's another story.
