1) A component reference would be nice. yes i know there are javadocs. but something like the ANT-Taks manual just for components would be good. Maybe with examples + screenshots/wireframes.

2) A complete, _well structured_, reference (see Spring, Hibernate projects). It must not be a 400page doc. But it should contain all important (basic & advanced) features and it should be very well structured. nothing is more frustrating than diggin blogs, wikis and javadocs to find out something.

3) A more complex example (simple ones are there) that uses most of the features in a "best-practice" kind of way. Petstore or a similar example. maybe with a "wicket in action" thing.

All those kept up-to-date should really do nice. I think good an well maintained docs are the key factors for wicket to prevail. I, as a user, value them more important than features. i don't have the time to read the source code or dozends of wikis or blog examples. i prefer a central well structured reference i can use. I also learned that it is way better starting docs in early phaseand postpone some features than having to write a huge doc later on.

my 2cents.

I've really liked Wicket approach to web application development. I
wish it becomes more and more successful and popular in the near
future.

Go Wicket! ;-)

Go Geertjan, go Geertjan! :)

I think it would be good if people were to specify EXACTLY what kind of things we'd like to have in terms of documentation. I mean, there are already several basic tutorials on the Wicket site. What kind of things are missing -- once we know that we can work out how to provide the necessary docs.

I've started assembling a component reference doc -- http:// blogs.sun.com/roller/page/geertjan/? anchor=wicket_markup_html_webcomponent_voor

Is this going in the right direction? What other/additional things would be needed for that doc? Or is it superfluous?
