With 1.13 there is a double redirect fixer (not sure if it is live yet)
which should cut out the main way they can occur - moving pages. On top of
that, as the redirect change follows through all redirects, you won't even
notice them.

While I see your point that it makes them immediately harder to spot, most
users and viewers won't have a problem. If you're on Monobook, you get the
normal notice and can fix them, if you're on Monaco you can just ignore them
and check the special page every so often.
