PD-old-70 is no uncommon tag. It is as common (or even more) than the "PD in
the US" tags. You do not solve bugs by simply closing them without a
solution...

Add an option to enter the date of death of the author and insert
{{PD-old-auto|$the_entered_date}}. That would be best.
