Just want to drop a note that on the German Wiktionary we already have
implemented this feature quite some months ago, at
[[wikt:de:MediaWiki:Common.js]], [[MediaWiki:Monobook.js]] (called
"Suchfeldfokus").
You may test it. Live.
It skips password pages; isn't executed if a page is going to be scrolled etc.
Ideas for other improvements are much appreciated, of course.
