--- Comment #5 from Subfader <subfa...@gmail.com> 2011-07-03 23:08:08 UTC --- "A convincing reason for restoring the setting would have to be something where you'd want the setting when you *haven't* hacked the software to display differently." You're not playing fair here. I gace reasons above. My article links using icons globally and 2 columns instead of 3 are no category based hacks and not related to this bug report... The only related hack was to hide the NS prefix in the links. But only because they should not sort under C (as ýou mentioned as only argument against bringing back $wgCategoryPrefixedDefaultSortkey). " We had lots of wikis where people would add {{#defaultsort:{{PAGENAME}}}} to all pages not in the main namespace, to get the category headings right." Really? No way I will do this. That's not a solution. I have over 16,000 categories and I won't{{#defaultsort:{{PAGENAME}}}} to them and tell my users to add this for no reason in the future. Instead, I now ask where the advantage is in sorting the namespace letter? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
