See for instance: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Blocks_and_protections#Protection_of_File:Political_Regions_of_Sudan.2C_July_2006.svg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump#Help:_I_cant.27t_restore_original_File:LocationSouthernSudan.svg These situations are of particular significance, since it took only one user uploading once the wrong version of one file to start a "edit war" with a lot of users trying in good faith to revert it back to the original image. This is bond to happen again and again and again, and is wasting a lot of server space, since each time a file is reverted it is uploaded again to the servers. It's also forcing the files to be moved to new names in order to bypass that bug, creating unnecessary redirects and name replacements in the projects using those files, and making the file log quite hard to follow, since deleted revisions are left behind each time the file is moved. Please solve this bug as soon as you can, it is really damaging the project.
